RURAL APPRENTICESHIP OUTREACH
Program: Rural Apprenticeship Outreach
Established in 2001
Serving: Rural Communities
Apprenticeship Outreach and Education is for ALL of Alaska’s people statewide.
The Rural Apprenticeship Outreach (RAO) program provides rural community members with information on apprenticeship application deadlines, construction training opportunities, and provides educational apprenticeship information.
AWP case managers are available to rural community members for trade-specific interview skills training, referrals to local job centers for additional services needed and referrals for employment. Local Job Centers and Tribal Entities may be able to assist rural community members with travel to attend AWP’s trainings.
If you would like to receive updated training schedules, application deadlines and keep up with events via e-mail or text click here to get on our Apprenticeship Outreach Contact List.
RAO case managers maintain and utilize the Apprenticeship Outreach Contact database and Rural Interest & Experience registration.
The Rural Interest & Experience Registration has been created for two reasons. One, to help AWP and our partners understand what trades community members are interested in for future rural trainings and employment. Secondly, to collect construction related experience information for future construction projects and employer calls we receive for workers needed in rural areas. No experience is required to register.
If you would like to be a part of AWP’s Rural Interest & Experience registration click here.
